2 Weeks Beijing-Xian-Chengdu-Guizhou Tour


Day 1: Beijing

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your local tour guide who will then accompany you to your hotel.  Today is entirely devoted to getting you back on track and ready for the rest of your journey.. Beijing Duck will be on the menu for your welcome dinner.


Day 2: Beijing

Today’s highlights are The Forbidden City and Coal Hill, two of Beijing’s most historic attractions. Whiles walking along the path of  The Forbidden City, your guide will give you an overview of the “History of the Middle Kingdom”. After lunch,  We will then make a tour of some Beijing Hutongs, the traditional style of housing long associated with Beijing.   After dinner, you will see acrobat show in ChaoYang Threater.


Day 3: Beijing 

Today, we will walk along on a remote section of The Great Wall- Mutianyu section. To accompany your Great Wall trek, your tour leader will introduce The Great Wall, including the events leading up to its creation, its construction, and the subsequent 2,700 years of its existence.  After returning from Mutianyu Great Wall, we will explore the legacy of the Beijing Olympics through a tour of the Olympic Park.  Free time in the evening.


Day 4: Beijing, Xi’an

Today, we will catch our flight to Xi’an.  After arriving in Xian we will have some time to settle into our accommodation and then devote some time to walking around the impressive city wall that encloses this ancient Chinese capital. During our stroll, a local guide will present a lecture about the significance of Xi’an in Chinese history.


Day 5: Xi’an

Today we will take our time viewing the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, considered one of the eight most important World Heritage Sites. The visit will be enhanced by the presence of one of a local guide  to reveal the true magnificence of this amazing place, and answer any and all questions that we may have.  We will have local cuisine for dinner.


Day 6: Chengdu

After breakfast, we will catch our flight to Chengdu-- the capital of Sichuan, the "Heavenly State" and world renowned as the habitat of giant pandas and spicy local hotpot. Upon arrival, we will be picked up by our local tour guide then taken to our hotel. After time to refresh, we will take the bus to Bifengxia Panda Reserve Base, the largest reservation in the world devoted to protecting these wonderful animals. Indeed, there are more than 20 research laboratories and feeding centres on site. After spending a half day visiting and playing with the pandas we will return to Chengdu in the late afternoon where the local hotpot awaits us for dinner.

Day 7 Chengdu, Leshan

After breakfast, our language study today will focus on food, before heading off to see the Giant Buddha in the nearby town of Leshan. This enormous hand-carved statue of Maitreya is cut into a cliff at the confluence of the Min River, the Qingyi River and the Dadu River. The statue, 71 meters high, is the largest stone Buddha in the world. The Maitreya is in a sitting position with a completive, yet serious, expression. Construction of this colossal work began in the Tang Dynasty and went on for about 90 years. After arriving back in Chengdu and after dinner, we will end our day watching an example of the famous Sichuan Opera in a local tea house.


Day 8: Chengdu, Guiyang

Today, we will catch our flight to Guiyang the Capital city of Guizhou province.  And then transfer to Kaili ,from where we will embark upon our Chinese minority cultural experience. Upon our arrival in Kaili, you will be checked into your accommodation, local cusine for dinner.


Day 9: Kaili, Langde Village, Lanhua Village

In the morning, your tour guide will give you a short introduction to Miao culture before we depart for Langde village, a quaint, mountain side town perfect for savoring the unique Miao way of life. After a short stay in Lanhua village, we will continue onwards to Langde where you can witness traditional Miao dances and have an opportunity to tour around the surrounding villages.  We will return to Kaili in the evening where we will hold our language class.


Day 10: Kaili, Xijiang Village

After breakfast, will have free time in the morning to explore Kaili’s most vibrant, old  market, where the Miao people sell their famous handmade crafts, silver jewellery and embroidery. After lunch, you will be transported to Xijiang Village, the largest Miao villages in this area. The route takes us through Guizhou’s magnificent, mountainous countryside. Because Miao are a very hospitable people, they warmly welcome visitors and always keep their house open for guests. Upon our arrival at Xijiang Village, we will walk through the village, visiting the local farm land and local families, be their welcomed guest and have dinner with them. Our participants will also stay overnight at a local, family owned guest house.


Day 11: Kaili and surrounding area


Day 12: Kaili- Beijing

 After breakfast, we will be driving to the airport to catch our flights back to Beijing. Upon arrival, we will be picked up by our local guide and then accompanied to our hotel. The remainder of the day will be free time for souvenir shopping and the evening dinner will provide reflections on your experiences in China.


Day 13:—Beijing—home

After breakfast, you will be accompanied to the airport to catch your flights home.
